David W. Lawler received his law degree in 2010 from the Southern Illinois University School of Law. While in law school, David clerked with John Womick and Williamson County State’s Attorney Charles Garnati. David served Williamson County as a member of Laborer’s Local 773 as an assistant state’s attorney with Williamson County State’s Attorney Charles Garnati through 2012. There, he prosecuted over 1,000 cases and handled every stage of criminal prosecution: drafting search warrants, charging documents bench and jury trials as well as sentencings. David is one of the founders of the Lawler Brown Law Firm where he has gained extensive trial experience in both criminal and civil cases throughout Southern Illinois.

David has practiced in state and federal court in criminal and civil law. He has practiced personal injury, criminal law, worker’s compensation, estate planning/probate, and real estate law in more than twenty counties throughout Illinois. David’s experience as both a prosecutor and a defense trial attorney in civil and criminal law affords him the balanced perspective to best serve and protect the people of Williamson County. As a lifelong resident of Marion, David is dedicated to ensuring that Williamson County is a safe place to live and to raise our children. David has spent his entire legal career in Williamson County and will continue to ensure that all of our citizens have access to their pursuit of justice.
